The Hassall Heritage project was launched to document historic sites and artifacts associated with the family’s history. Historic sites include:
- Homes, Buildings, and Properties
- Gravesites and Monuments
- Locations such as roads and districts bearing family names
- Drawings and other art
- Domestic memorabilia
- Photographs
- Historical Publications
John Brooks is coordinating this project. The following animated slide show was presented at the 2023 Reunion by him to provide more details about the Heritage project.

Tours and Activities
As part of the Heritage project to identify the geographical spread of the Hassalls in Australia, the committee have organised tours with the aim placing the Hassalls in the context of the early development of the Colony. As well as tours of Parramatta, Camden and Cobbity during the 2023 Reunion, there were also day-tours of Windsor and O’Connell plains immediately following the reunion weekend. Homes and Locations
There are some very good examples of old Hassall homes – these show the realities of early settlement in Australia. Several in the Camden/Cobbitty region that can be found in our Photos section. Some have been placed in State Heritage Lists

Gravesites and Restorations
The graves of many Hassalls can be found all around the country. Some sites have been cleaned up and restored by family members.

Other Artefacts
Domestic memoribilia can include items of clothing, jewellery, furniture, kitchen and cooking records, crockery, cutlery, and work tools.
